Concrete preparation work is performed at new triplex apartment complex constructed by the Friend family of Licking. It is on North Grand Avenue near the Texas County Justice Center. Apartments to the east were completed earlier. The City of Houston recently adopted a housing incentive for homes and multi-family housing that pays $3 per square foot up to $7,000. City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department Director Brandon Maberry expects construction to soon resume on a facility at the southwest corner of Westside Park that will combine a volleyball court and two pickleball courts.

Houston's tennis courts

Fencing was recently upgraded at the City of Houston's tennis facility at Westside Park. Parks and Recreation Department director Brandon Maberry said the surface of the two courts needs replacing, and he hopes to address that issue in the not-too-distant future.
